About the Festival
The San Diego Burning Man Film Festival is an authorized Burning Man regional event, produced and screened by SUNDBURN LLC. FFIAB is an eclectic collection of independent films about Burning Man, both the community and the experience. These films were selected by the Burning Man FFIAB (Film Festival In A Box) committee.
Community participation is the touchstone of Burning Man, and San Diego Burners have created a vibrant community in the San Diego area. Regional Burning Man communities have coalesced in major cities all over the world. Some of them have legal entities such as LLCs or Not for Profit companies to represent the community. Some don’t.
Established in 2006, SUNDBURN LLC is the San Diego community’s legal entity. Our most visible activity is organizing the annual YOUtopia Decompression Event (or Decom, for short) where Burning Man art and Burning Man experiences are brought home to share with all of San Diego. Memories of the recent Burn are shared, friends are reunited, and new friends are welcomed.
SUNDBURN LLC is composed entirely of volunteers. While we are currently a corporation in name, we always behave as a non-profit and are currently seeking 501(c)3 status in California. In the end, our mission is simple: SUNDBURN participates in our community by offering others the chance to discover their inner artist. Proceeds from the San Diego Burning Man Film Festival will be shared with the San Diego Burning Man community, to help fund future regional events.
If you would like to participate, please see our website at www.fuegodiego.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
